US FlagUS/Washington: Taylor Farms Illinois, Inc., a Chicago, Illinois establishment, recalls an estimated 51 pounds of Jarlsberg Cheese and Bacon Quiche products due to suspected mislabeling and consequential risk of undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Quiche baked goods are subject to this recall:

  • Taylor Farms Jarlsberg Cheese & Bacon Quiche products, sold in 10-ounce individual-serve plastic containers with a batch/lot code of TFIL156A001 and a use-by date of 06/11/19

=> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Cheese and Bacon Quiche products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 21794” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia.

The problem was discovered on June 8, 2019 when Taylor Farms Illinois, Inc. notified the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) that the incorrect bottom package label had been applied to the Quiche products.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Jarlsberg Cheese & Bacon Quiche products and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
