UK FlagUK/London: British & Continental, a Nottingham, East Midlands establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Mica Belgian Frangipans due to improperly declared Egg, Gluten (Wheat), Milk, Soya and Wheat, all known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to recall:

  • Mica Belgian Frangipans, sold in clear plastic packages of three (3) pastries; affected dates: all best-before dates up to and including 26/07/2019

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, British & Continental has recalled certain batch/lots of Mica 3 Belgian Frangipan pastries because they contain Egg, Gluten (Wheat), Milk, Soya and Wheat, allergens not been emphasised on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to Egg, Gluten (Wheat), Milk or Milk Constituents, Soya or Wheat. The product is known to have been distributed in Morrisons and Nisa.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Belgian Frangipan Pastries and could be allergic to their Egg, Gluten (Wheat), Milk, Soya and Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
