Canada/Ottawa: 113712 Canada Inc., doing business as Distribution Farinex, a Boisbriand, Quebec establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Gelsius branded IQF Raspberries due to suspected risk of Norovirus contamination and consequential risk of viral infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Bulk Raspberry products are subject to this recall:

  • Gelsius branded IQF Raspberries (Frozen), sold in 5 by 1 kilogram containers with a batch/lot designation of 002, a listed date of 06/06/2018 and a UPC of 01815703620
  • Gelsius branded IQF Raspberries (Frozen), sold in 5 by 1 kilogram containers with a batch/lot designation of 002, a listed date of 30/05/2018 and a UPC of 01815703620

According to the CFIA, Distribution Farinex has recalled certain batch/lots of Gelsius branded IQF Raspberries from the Canadian marketplace due to possible Norovirus contamination of the raspberries used in this product. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Raspberries, nor any product made from the Raspberries, identified above.

Please note: these products may still be held in production freezers as frozen fruit has a relatively long shelf life. Bakers and other industrial users of these bulk products should check their stock immediately for these batch/lots and tag for return or disposal as necessary.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your wholesaler or distributor for refund or toss it out in your regular garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Bulk Frozen Raspberries please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the outlet where you purchased it for a full refund.
