According to the ACCC, an injury may occur if a person positions his or her fingers beneath the seat when the seat is tilted backward in the reclined position. Specifically, when the Seat is tilted forwards again to the upright position, the fingers may be crushed if they are trapped between the seat frame and the frame stopper. The stopper is a functional necessity required to stop the tilting action when the seat returns to the horizontal position.

==> The company reminds attendants, patients and related healthcare personnel that when used correctly by a carer, all patient fingers, hands and limbs should be positioned away from all moving parts of the Commode including the tilting mechanism.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Shower Commodes, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Aidacare to arrange for the on-site installation of protective pivot guards. The risk will be mitigated using the addition of a pivot guard to the Commode on either side of the frame.
