US FlagUS/Washington: Target Corp., a Minneapolis, Minnesota establishment, recalls an estimated 90,000 Heyday 3 Foot Lightning USB Charging Cables due to suspected smoking, sparking and/or igniting with consequential risks of fire, burns and property damage, all serious safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall includes certain Heyday branded 3 Foot Lightning USB Charging Cables, as follows:

  • The metal Charging Cable is purple, green and blue iridescent. The brand, “Heyday” can be found on the Cable’s connector and a model number of 080 08 8261 can be found on the side of the product packaging.

The recalled Cables are used to charge cellphones and other electronics that use Lightning Connector Charging Cables.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Lightning USB Charging Cables can be found on the Web site listed above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the metal around the Cable can become electrically charged if it contacts the USB wall charger plug prongs while charging, posing shock and fire hazards. At press time, Target has received fourteen (14) reports of the cables smoking, sparking or igniting, including two (2) reports of finger burns.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Lightning Connector Charging Cables, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
