New Seasons Bacon Shallot Potato Salad Recall [US]

US FlagUS/Silver Spring: New Seasons Market, a Portland, Oregon establishment, recalls an estimated 60 pounds of Bacon Shallot Potato Salad products due to undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Bacon Shallot Potato Salad products are subject to this recall:

  • New Seasons Market Bacon Shallot Potato Salad, sold at three (3) New Seasons Market locations in Portland, Oregon, specifically the Mountain Park, Hawthorne and University Park locations, from the deli case for costumers’ custom variable order and packed into plastic deli containers, with a shelf life of five (5) days from purchase/pack date. The Salads were sold with the packed-on dates ranging from May 16, 2019 to May 21, 2019 and with sell-by dates up to and including May 26, 2019.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated after it was discovered that these deli-served Bacon Shallot Potato Salads contained Egg but were sold in packaging that did not reveal the presence of Egg.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Bacon Shallot Potato Salad and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
