US FlagUS/Washington: MIBO Fresh Foods LLC, a Fort Worth, Texas establishment, recalls an estimated 1,460 pounds of HEB branded Salads with Meat due to undeclared Anchovy Fish, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Salad products are subject to this recall:

  • HEB branded Meal Simple Chef Salads with Homestyle Ranch Dressing, sold in 9.65 ounce clear plastic packages with best-by date codes of 05-18-19 and 05-20-19

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Salads can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the Salad products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. P-27399” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items are known to have been shipped to retail stores in Texas. The problem was discovered by a retail store when the mislabeled products were being unboxed to be placed on the retail store shelves.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Salad products and could be allergic to their Anchovy Fish ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
