Canada/Ottawa: DOM International Limited, a Toronto, Ontario establishment, expands its existing recall for certain batch/lots of DOM Reserve branded Atlantic Salmon Strips (Hot Smoked) Cracked Black Pepper to include an additional batch/lot of this product.

The original recall was due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Salmon Fish products are subject to this recall:

  • DOM Reserve branded Atlantic Salmon Strips (Hot Smoked) Cracked Black Pepper, sold in 150 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 001996, 002176, 002325, 002371 and 02533, various best-before dates and a UPC of 7 72945 11150 8

Two earlier recall notifications including the following:

  • DOM Reserve branded Atlantic Salmon Strips (Hot Smoked) Cracked Black Pepper, sold in 150 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 001851, various best-before dates and a UPC of 7 72945 11150 8
  • DOM Reserve branded Atlantic Salmon Strips (Hot Smoked) Cracked Black Pepper, sold in 150 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 002451, various best-before dates and a UPC of 7 72945 11150 8

According to the CFIA, DOM International has recalled certain batch/lots of DOM Reserve branded Atlantic Salmon Strips (Hot Smoked) Cracked Black Pepper due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Salmon Fish products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Salmon Fish products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to handle bacterial poisoning including Listeriosis.
