US FlagUS/Washington: DDA Distributors, Inc., doing business as Hush Anesthetic, Inc., a Miami Lakes, Florida, recalls an estimated 275,000 Anesthetic Gels, Sprays and Foam Soaps due to suspected failure to meet US child resistant closure requirement and consequential risk of poisoning, ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Hush branded Anesthetic Gels, Sprays and Foam Soaps products containing 4% Lidocaine. The Gel and Spray produtcs were sold in two (2) and four (4)-ounce sizes while the Foam Soap was sold in 1.7-ounce size.

  • The bottles are white or black (shown above) and have green identification text on the front with the Hush logo or the phrase “Hush” as well as the specific type of product. The Drug Facts label is on the back. The lot number and expiration date are stamped on the bottom of the container. All lot numbers included in the recall.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the packaging on the recalled Hush branded is not child resistant as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. The products contain Lidocaine, posing a risk of poisoning to young children if they put the product on their skin or ingest it.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Hush branded Anesthetic Gels, Sprays and Foam Soaps products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
