Australia ACCC RecallAustralia/Canberra: Port Stephens Eggs, an Austral, New South Wales establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of Port Stephens Eggs Country Fresh Eggs Just Free to Range Eggs and Port Stephens Eggs 12 Free Range Eggs Jumbo due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial illness, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Fresh Egg products are subject to this recall:

  • Port Stephens Eggs Country Fresh Eggs Just Free to Range Eggs, sold in 700 gram cartons; affected batch/lots: all best-before dates up to and including 8 June 2019
  • Port Stephens Eggs 12 Free Range Eggs Jumbo, sold in 800 gram cartons; affected batch/lots: all best-before dates up to and including 8 June 2019

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to suspected Salmonella enteritidis contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Fresh Eggs identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Fresh Eggs, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to handle bacterial poisoning such as Salmonelosis.
