Coto Baby branded Jazz Baby Car Seats, sold with an approval number of E13-045048 and an unlisted EAN/barcode.

The type of hazards presented in these recalled Baby Car Seats include the suspected failure to properly protect the child in the event of a crash or other MVA occurrence.

Specifically, the plastic frame in the back of the recalled Baby Seats can crack in the event of an impact. This could impair the stability of the headrest and might lead to increased head displacement and injuries to the head and neck.

In addition, the force needed to open the lock holding the child exceeds the limit set. This could adversely affect the ability to remove the child from the interior of the vehicle after a vehicular crash and/or fire.

If either of these defects occurs, the child sitting in the Seat could be injured, perhaps severely.

Due to these defects and their associated risks, these Coto Baby branded Jazz Baby Car Seats do not comply with the requirements of the relevant European Standard UNECE Regulation number 44-04. You can consult this regulation here: https://www.unece.org/fileadmin/DAM/trans/doc/2015/wp29grsg/GRSG-108-14e.pdf

Consequently, a recall of these products from end users and a withdrawal of the product from the market withdrawn from the European marketplace has been ordered.
