US NHTSA Recalls: Mercedes-Benz A220 Cars

US FlagWashington, DC: NHTSA Logo ColorAs of Saturday, May 11, 2019, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”), a division of the US Department of Transportation, has posted a total of 35 vehicle, tire, accessory or other related product recalls this month. Are yours listed?

Among the 35 recalls the NHTSA has announced this May comes news of the following:

Logo - Mercedes-BenzMercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (“MBUSA”) has recalled an estimated 1,051 model year 2019 A220 and A220 4MATIC cars. Due to improper welding in the recalled vehicles, the pedal plate may bend, impairing the operation of the brake pedal.

According to the NHTSA, impaired operation of the brake pedal may increase the risk of crash.

MBUSA will notify registered owners and dealers will inspect the welding of the brake pedal, replacing it as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin June 19, 2019. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 to schedule an appointment and/or for more information.
