Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Baby Teething Powder products are subject to this recall:

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated because small, threadlike (up to approximately 1 cm long by less than 1 mm wide), soft, slivers of white plastic could potentially peel off the jar cap upon first opening. This is due to the tight fit of the cap in the jar. This presents a potential for physical contamination of the powder with plastic when opening the jar. The health risk associated with this issue is that if a small sliver of plastic was consumed it may constitute a choking hazard.

==> For information about Botulism, please consult the “Illnesses” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any drug, return it to your retailer for refund, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect medication.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Weleda Baby Teething Powder, please do not administer it to your child nor use it as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to handle choking hazard.
