According to the FDA, this recall was triggered by a consumer complaint. The presence of Pecans and Walnuts was discovered in the product through third-party laboratory testing. The source of the Tree Nut allergen is believed to be the bread used by a primary supplier of the bread crumbs used by ICCO to repack the product. At press time, there has been one (1) reported allergic reaction to date, associated with the consumption of the Whole Grain Bread Crumbs products.

==> For information about Nut Allergy (including Peanuts and Tree Nuts such as Pecans and Walnuts), please consult the “Allergens & Intolerances” tab at the top of this page.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Bread Crumbs and could be allergic to their Pecan and/or Walnut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
