Australia ACCC RecallAustralia/Canberra: Bettalife Distributors Pty Ltd, a Torrensville, South Australia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Celebrate branded Frozen Desserts due to suspected Salmonella enteritidis contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Frozen Desserts are subject to this recall:

  • Mountain Mist Eclairs Chocolate Mini, sold in 365 gram packages consisting of 26 pieces with a batch/lot designation of 199-0321, a use-by date code of 01/02/20 and an APN/AEN of 8858762720009
  • Mountain Mist Profiteroles Tropical Fruit, sold in 645 gram packages consisting of 48 pieces with a batch/lot designation of 199-0321, a use-by date code of 01/02/20 and an APN/AEN of 8858762720047
  • Mountain Mist Profiteroles Classic with Chantilly Cream, sold in 325 gram packages consisting of 28 pieces with a batch/lot designation of 199-0321, a use-by date code of 01/02/20 and an APN/AEN of 8858762720030

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to the potential of Salmonella enteritidis contamination. You should neither serve nor consume Frozen Desserts identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Frozen Desserts, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to handle Salmonella poisoning.
