Feeding Change Young Thai Coconut Meat Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Feeding Change Canada, a Vancouver, British Columbia establishment, expands its existing recall for certain batch/lots of Feeding Change branded Young Thai Coconut Meat products to include additional distribution information. The original recall was due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Coconut Meat products are subject to this recall and are now thought to have been distributed in the Canadian provinces / territories of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan and Yukon:

  • Feeding Change branded Young Thai Coconut Meat, sold in 454 gram pouches with a best-by date code of Jun 01 2020, a batch/code designation of CM 152181A and a UPC of 0 91037 12927 7
  • Feeding Change branded Young Thai Coconut Meat, sold in 454 gram pouches with a best-by date code of Jun 13 2020, a batch/code designation of CM 164181A and a UPC of 0 91037 12927 7
  • Feeding Change branded Young Thai Coconut Meat, sold in 454 gram pouches with a best-by date code of Jun 14 2020, a batch/code designation of CM 165181A and a UPC of 0 91037 12927 7
  • Feeding Change branded Young Thai Coconut Meat, sold in 454 gram pouches with a best-by date code of Jun 18 2020, a batch/code designation of CM 169181A and a UPC of 0 91037 12927 7

The earlier notification called for the recall of the following:

  • Feeding Change branded Young Thai Coconut Meat, sold in 454 gram pouches and a best-by date of May 28 2020, a batch/lot designation of CM 148181A and a UPC of 0 91037 12927 7

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, FeedingChange Canada has expanded its earlier recall for certain batch/lots of Feeding Change branded Young Thai Coconut Meat from the Canadian marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Coconut Meat products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
