Canada/Ottawa: La Fromagerie Hamel, a Montreal, Quebec establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Le Pic branded Saint-Félicien Cheese due to suspected risk of Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) O26 contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Cheese products are subject to this recall:

  • Le Pic branded Saint-Félicien Cheese, sold in 180 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all codes up to and including April 29, 2019 with a UPC of 0 20060641300 0

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, La Fromagerie Hamel had recalled certain batch/lots of Le Pic branded Saint-Félicien Cheese due to suspected risk of Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) contamination.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Cheese products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
