US FlagUS/Washington: Grant Park Packing, a Franklin Park, Illinois establishment, recalls an estimated 53,200 pounds of Raw Ground Beef products due to suspected risk of Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) O103 contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Raw Ground Beef products were produced on October 30, October 31 and November 1, 2018 and are subject to this recall:

  • North Star Imports & Sales, LLC. 100% Ground Beef Bulk 80% Lean / 20% Fat marked for Institutional Use Only, sold in forty (40)-pound bulk cardboard boxes with a batch/lot code of GP.1051.18 and pack dates including 10/30/2018, 10/31/2018 and 11/01/2018.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Raw Ground Beef products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 21781” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to Minnesota for further distribution and Kentucky for institutional use.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Raw Ground Beef, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
