Ecoideas brand Organic Skinned Tigernut Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Ecoideas, a Markham, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Ecoideas branded Organic Skinned Tigernuts due to suspected risk of Salmonella contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Organic Nut products are subject to this recall:

  • Ecoideas branded Organic Skinned Tigernuts, sold in 227 gram (half-pound) white plastic pouches with a batch/lot code of 84919101 a best-by date code of 013121 and a UPC of 8 75405 00284 9
  • Ecoideas branded Organic Skinned Tigernuts, sold in 450 gram (one-pound) white plastic pouches with a batch/lot code of 84919101 a best-by date code of 013121 and a UPC of 8 75405 00285 6

According to the CFIA, Ecoideas has recalled certain batch/lots of Ecoideas branded Organic Skinned Tigernuts from the Canadian marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Organic Tigernut products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
