Organic Spring Imported French Cheese Recall [Australia]

Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Organic Spring Pty Ltd, an Australian establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Imported French Cheeses due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following French Cheese products are subject to this recall:

  • Chaource St-Simeon, sold in 250 gram packages with best-before dates of 24 Feb 19, 24 March 19, 14 Apr 19 or 28 Apr 19
  • Brie de la Brie USA, sold in 3 kilogram with best-before dates of 01 March 19, 24 March 19 or 14 April 19
  • Explorateur Mini Sous Coque, sold in 125 gram with best-before dates of 12 Feb 19, 14 April 19 or 28 April 19

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, this recall is due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled French Cheese products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
