US FlagUS/Washington: Yoakum Packing Co., a Yoakum, Texas establishment, recalls an estimated 12,388 pounds of Smoked Venison Sausage due to undeclared Pork, a source of dietary intolerance, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the fully cooked Smoked Venison Sausage containing Beef, Pork and other non-meat products items were produced from May 3, 2017 through March 22, 2019 and are subject to this recall:

  • 2.5-pound plastic wrapped bags containing frozen Smoked Venison Sausage links marked as “Venison Smoked Sausage – Fully Cooked – Keep Refrigerated” and sold with a case code 35710 or 35712.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design, retail and wholesale presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Sausage products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 2216” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to distributors and retailers in the state of Texas.

The problem was discovered during routine labeling verification by US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) on April 10, 2019.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Smoked Venison Sausage, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
