Oreinos Mylopotamos Mizythra Cheese Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: MFG Distribution Inc., a Montreal, Québec establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of Oreinos Mylopotamos branded Cretan Dry Mizythra Cheese due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Mizythra are subject to this recall:

  • Oreinos Mylopotamos branded Cretan Dry Mizythra Cheese, sold in 1.45 kilogram shrink-wrapped wheels

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, MFG Distribution Inc. has recalled all current batch/lots of Oreinos Mylopotamos branded Cretan Dry Mizythra Cheese from the Canadian marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Cheese product identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Cretan Dry Mizythra Cheese, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
