US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Conagra Brands, Inc., a Milton, Pennsylvania establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Hunt’s branded Tomato Paste No Salt Added due to suspected Mold contamination caused by container damage and consequential risk of infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following canned Tomato Paste products are subject to this recall:

  • Hunt’s branded Tomato Paste No Salt Added, sold in six (6) ounce cans with a best-by date code of OCT 16 2020, an individual batch/lot designation of 2105902510, a case batch/lot designation of 5291902510, an individual can UPC of 00-0-27000-38807-5 and a case UPC of 00-0-27000-38809-9

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, Conagra Brands has recalled the above batch/lots of Hunt’s branded Tomato Paste No Salt Added due to the potential for Mold, possibly caused by damage after the canning process. Conagra became aware of the issue after receiving calls from consumers. The Tomato Paste products covered by this recall were distributed for retail sale US nationwide.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Tomato Paste products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Tomato Paste to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
