US FlagUS/Washington: Blount Fine Foods, a Fall River, Massachusetts establishment, recalls undetermined amount of Homestyle branded Ready-To-Eat Chicken Soup products due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports these institutional, frozen Chicken & Poblano Pepper Soup products, that were labeled incorrectly as Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup, were produced on January 24, 2019 are subject to recall:

  • Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup, sold in 8-pound cases containing two (2) four-pound bags with a use-by date code of 01242020 and a batch/lot code of 01242019 28A. The plastic bags inside the case are labeled as Chicken & Poblano Pepper Soup but do not identify a list of ingredients.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and wholesale presentation. Additional images of the recalled Frozen Chicken Soup can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. P-19449A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to restaurant distributor locations US nationwide. The problem was discovered when the firm received a consumer complaint.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Frozen Chicken Soup products and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your wholesaler or distributor for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
