H-E-B Made In Texas Smoked Sausage Recall [US]


US FlagUS/Washington: H-E-B Made In Texas Smoked Sausage Recall [US]J Bar B Foods, a Weimar, Texas establishment, has recalled an estimated 51,188 pounds of ready-to-eat (“RTE”) H-E-B Made In Texas branded Original Smoked Sausage products due to suspected mislabeling and consequential risk of undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Smoked Sausage products were produced on January 19, 2019 and are subject to this recall:

  • H-E-B Made In Texas Original Smoked Sausage, sold 14-ounce vacuum-sealed packages with a sell-by date of 5/19/19 and batch/lot code of LN2 90149

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail / wholesale presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Smoked Sausage products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the Sausage products subject to recall bear establishment number “7066A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Texas.

The problem was discovered when a retail store notified the company of an incorrect label. The establishment investigated and determined that the incorrect label was applied to the product.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Smoked Sausage products and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
