US FlagUS/Washington: DeliverLean & Bell & Evans Chicken Salad Recall [US]Lean Culinary Services, LLC, a Hollywood, Florida establishment, recalls an estimated 223 pounds of ready-to-eat (“RTE”) DeliverLean branded and Made with Bell & Evans branded Chicken Salad products due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken Salad products are subject to this recall:

  • Classic Chicken Salad Made with Bell & Evans White Meat Chicken sold in 14.9-ounce plastic tubs with a best-by date of 2-17-19
  • Classic Chicken Salad Made with Bell & Evans White Meat Chicken, sold in 8-pound plastic bags with a sell-by date of 2-19-19 for use behind the store’s deli counter
  • DeliverLean Classic Chicken Salad, sold in 7.8-ounce plastic tubs with a use-by date of 2/17/19
  • DeliverLean Chicken Salad Bento Box, sold in 5.5-ounce plastic tubs with a use-by date of 2/17/19

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-46167” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Florida.

Please note: due to the Trump Administration’s partial shutdown of several agencies within the US government in December 2018, communication of this notification has been significantly delayed.

The problem was discovered on February 18, 2019 when US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) inspection program personnel verified the status of product that had tested positive for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Chicken Salad products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
