US FlagUS/Washington: 11140 - Maxfield Seafood Sheat Fish Recall [US]Richwell Group, Inc., doing business as Maxfield Seafood, a City of Industry, California establishment and the Importer of Record, recalls an estimated 55,300 pounds of imported Siluriformes Fish products due to suspected failure to present for import re-inspection upon entry into the United States, a serious health and safety hazard.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Siluriformes, specifically Sheat Fish, were imported from Vietnam to the US from April 2018 through December 2018. The Fish products have an estimated shelf life of two (2) years and are subject to this recall:

  • Maxfield Seafood branded Sheat Fish Ca Tren Ket, sold in 14-ounce clear bags with expiry date codes ranging from 200324 to 201227.
  • Maxfield Seafood branded Sheat Fish Ca Tren Rang, sold in 14-ounce clear bags with expiry date codes ranging from 200324 to 201227. Please note some labels don’t display an expiration date and should therefore, be included in this recall.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, these items were shipped to retail locations US nationwide.

Please note: due to the Trump Administration’s partial shutdown of several agencies within the US government in December 2018, communication of this notification has been significantly delayed.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Maxfield Seafood Sheat Fish Ca Tren Ket products or Maxfield Seafood Sheat Fish Ca Tren Rang products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
