US FlagUS/Washington: Chile Relleno branded Chicken Recall [US]Taylor Farms TX, Inc., a Dallas, Texas establishment, recalls an estimated 2,100 pounds of Chile Relleno branded Chicken products due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Wheat, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following ready-to-eat “HEB Roasted Spaghetti Squash with Alfredo & Chicken” products were incorrectly labeled as “Chile Relleno” and were produced on various dates from January 25, 2019 through January 30, 2019.

  • Heb-Meal Simple Chile Relleno meals, sold in 10-ounce tray packages with use-by dates of 02/04/2019, 02/05/2019, 02/07/2019, 02/08/2019 and 02/09/2019 and batch/lot codes TFD025AU4, TFD026AU4, TFD028AU4, TFD029AU4 and TFD030AU4.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Chicken products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 34733” on the shipping container which is labeled as “HEB Roasted Spaghetti Squash with Alfredo & Chicken”. The affixed Chile Relleno labels do not bear an establishment number and were shipped to distribution centers and retail stores in Texas.

The problem was discovered on February 1, 2019 when the firm discovered that a label for “Chile Relleno” was incorrectly applied to some of its the company’s HEB Roasted Spaghetti Squash with Alfredo & Chicken products.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Chicken products and could be allergic to their Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
