Canada/Ottawa: Vivi and Tom Baby Food Baby Food Recall [Canada]Vivi and Tom Baby Food, a Cambridge, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Vivi and Tom Baby Food brand Baby and Toddler Foods due to suspected Clostridium botulinum contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Baby and Toddler Foods are subject to this recall (in alphabetical order):

  • Vivi & Tom branded Beef & Squash Purée; affected batch/lots: all products sold from November 22, 2018 to February 14, 2019, inclusive.
  • Vivi & Tom branded Beef Meatballs; affected batch/lots: all products sold from November 22, 2018 to February 14, 2019, inclusive.
  • Vivi & Tom branded Broccoli, Potato & Basil Purée; affected batch/lots: all products sold from November 22, 2018 to February 14, 2019, inclusive.
  • Vivi & Tom branded Carrot, Peach & Apricot Purée; affected batch/lots: all products sold from November 22, 2018 to February 14, 2019, inclusive.
  • Vivi & Tom branded Chicken & Parsnip Purée; affected batch/lots: all products sold from November 22, 2018 to February 14, 2019, inclusive.
  • Vivi & Tom branded Chicken Meatballs; affected batch/lots: all products sold from November 22, 2018 to February 14, 2019, inclusive.
  • Vivi & Tom branded Fish Cakes; affected batch/lots: all products sold from November 22, 2018 to February 14, 2019, inclusive.
  • Vivi & Tom branded Liver & Pear Purée; affected batch/lots: all products sold from November 22, 2018 to February 14, 2019, inclusive.
  • Vivi & Tom branded Salmon & Mango Purée; affected batch/lots: all products sold from November 22, 2018 to February 14, 2019, inclusive.
  • Vivi & Tom branded Squash Bites; affected batch/lots: all products sold from November 22, 2018 to February 14, 2019, inclusive.
  • Vivi & Tom branded Sweet Potato Applesauce; affected batch/lots: all products sold from November 22, 2018 to February 14, 2019, inclusive.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Vivi and Tom Baby Food has recalled various Baby and Toddler Foods from the Canadian marketplace because they may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum, the bacteria that causes Botulism. Parents, caregivers and others should neither serve nor consume the recalled Vivi & Tom branded Baby and Toddler Food products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Vivi & Tom branded Baby and Toddler Food products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
