US FlagUS/Washington: Tyson branded Chicken Panko Nuggets Recall [US]Tyson Foods, Inc., a Sedalia, Missouri establishment, recalls an estimated 36,420 pounds of Tyson branded Chicken Panko Nugget products due to suspected rubber fragment contamination and consequential risk of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken products are subject to this recall:

  • Tyson White Meat Panko Chicken Nuggets, 5-pound plastic packages with a best-if-used-by date code of NOV 26 2019, a case code of 3308SDL03 and time stamps ranging from 23:00 through 01:59, inclusive.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Chicken products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-13556” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations US nationwide.

The problem was discovered when the establishment received consumer complaints of extraneous material in purchased Panko Chicken Nugget products.

In general, if plastic or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Panko Chicken Nugget products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
