US FlagUS/Washington: Stino's branded Meat product Recall [US]Stino Da Napoli, a Rocky River, Ohio establishment, recalls 11,392 pounds of various Stino’s branded Meat products due to failure produced, packed and distributed without the benefit of federal inspection, a serious health and safety hazard.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following ready-to-eat Meat products were produced from November 30, 2017 through December 20, 2018 and are subject to this recall:

  • Stino Da Napoli Gourmet Meat Sauce Bolognese Pasta Sauce, sold in 24-ounce (1.5-pound) jars with a batch/lot code 181284000013
  • Stino Da Napoli Gourmet Pasta Sauce with Bacon Fumo Del Vesuvio, sold in 24-ounce (1.5-pound) jars with a batch/lot code 181284000303
  • Stino’s Gourmet Italian Foods Meatballs, sold in 1.3-pound packages with a batch/lot code 181284000167
  • Stino’s Gourmet Italian Foods Meat Lasagna, sold in 1.2-pound packages with a batch/lot code 181284000150

According to the USDA, the Sauce products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 45779” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The Meatball and Lasagna products do not include the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail stores in Ohio.

The problem was discovered on January 15, 2019 when an FSIS investigator visited a farmer’s market in Solon, Ohio and observed products produced by Stino Da Napoli being offered for sale.

United States Department of Agriculture is concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Stino Da Napoli Meat or Sauce products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
