Among the five (5) recalls the NHTSA has announced this February, comes news of the following:

Forest River, Inc (“Forest River”) has recalled an estimated 142 model year 2019 Rockport vehicles. The Federal Placard may indicate an incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating (“GAWR”). This can allow the vehicle to be overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, “Certification.”

According to the NHTSA, an overloaded vehicle may cause operator to lose control of vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Forest River has notified registered owners, and dealers will replace the Federal Placard with a new corrected Placard, free of charge. The recall is expected began January 18, 2018. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-522-7599. Forest River’s number for this recall is 51-0919.
