Aurora Cannabis Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Logo - Aurora CannabisAurora Cannabis Enterprise Inc., a Cremona, Alberta establishment, recalls an estimated two batch/lots consisting of an estimated 2,180 units of Aurora Cannabis products due to suspected mislabeling and consequential inclusion of a different Cannabis product with potential for over dosage, all potential serious health and safety hazards.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Aurora Cannabis products are subject to this recall:

  • Aurora Cannabis branded CBD caps, sold in 30 capsules bottles with a UPC of 1102019000072 and known distribution in the province of Alberta
  • Aurora Cannabis branded Banana Split Hybrid, sold in one (1) gram of dried Cannabis with a UPC of 1104019000076 and known distribution in the province of Quebec

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to Health Canada, the outside boxes of the recalled Cannabis products may be incorrectly labelled, as follows:

  • Boxes of product sold as “CBD Caps” with the batch/lot number 1102019000072 may in fact, mistakenly contain a bottle of “THC Sativa Caps”
  • Boxes of product sold as “Banana Split Hybrid” with the batch/lot number 1104019000076 may in fact, mistakenly contain a bottle of “Blue Dream Sativa”

Please note: all inside container labels of the affected Cannabis products correctly identify their contents.

The consumption of recalled products may cause unexpected effects due to a greater quantity of THC, one of the active ingredients in Cannabis.

To date, Aurora received three (3) complaints related to the recalled batch/lots. Aurora has received one (1) adverse reaction report regarding the “CBD Caps” product. Health Canada has not received any complaints related to the recalled batch/lots.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Cannabis Oil products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any drug, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.
