The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Nut Butter products are subject to this recall (in alphabetical order):

  • Thrive Market Non-GMO Creamy Almond Butter, sold in 16 ounce plastic jars with a UPC of 671635704733
  • Thrive Market Non-GMO Crunchy Almond Butter, sold in 16 ounce plastic jars with a UPC of 671635704740
  • Thrive Market Organic Coconut Butter, sold in 16 ounce plastic jars with a UPC of 671635704818
  • Thrive Market Organic Creamy Almond Butter, sold in 16 ounce plastic jars with a UPC of 671635704757
  • Thrive Market Organic Creamy Peanut Butter, sold in 16 ounce plastic jars with a UPC of 671635704771

According to the FDA, Thrive Market has recalled all unexpired lots of the above-identified Thrive Market-branded Nut Butters due to the potential for contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. One of the company’s primary ingredient suppliers notified Thrive Market that it was issuing a recall of all Nut Butters it has manufactured since January 2018 due to a positive test for Listeria monocytogenes in recent lots.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Nut Butter products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Nut Butters to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
