Canada/Ottawa: Lactantia brand Lactose Free 2% MilkParmalat Canada Inc., a Toronto, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Lactantia brand Lactose Free 2% Milk due to suspected presence of brown sediment contamination and consequential risk of bacterial infection and/or chemical contamination, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Milk products are subject to this recall:

  • Lactantia branded Lactose Free 2% Milk, sold in 1 L bottles with a product code of 14897, a best-before code of 2019 JA 31 and a UPC of 68200148427
  • Lactantia branded Lactose Free 2% Milk, sold in 2 L bottles with a product code of 14897, a best-before code of 2019 JA 31 and a UPC of 68200148434
  • Lactantia branded Lactose Free 2% Milk, sold in 4 L bottles with a product code of 14897, a best-before code of 2019 JA 31 and a UPC of 68200148977

According to the CFIA, Parmalat Canada has recalled certain batch/lots of Lactantia brand Lactose Free 2% Milk due to suspected presence of brown sediment contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the Milk products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Milk products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
