Canada/Ottawa: Logo - St-HubertMaître Saladier, Inc., a Boisbriand, Quebec establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of St-Hubert branded Tourtière, Chicken Pot Pie & Chicken and Broccoli Gratin due to suspected metal fragment contamination and consequential risk of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following St-Hubert branded Tourtière, Chicken Pot Pie & Chicken and Broccoli Gratin are subject to this recall:

  • St-Hubert branded Tourtière, sold in 800 gram packages with batch/lot product codes of 29818 100706 2021 OC 24 and a UPC of 0 66701 00694 9
  • St-Hubert branded Chicken Pot Pies, sold in 800 gram packages with batch/lot product codes of 29518 100641 2021 OC 21 and a UPC of 0 66701 00556 0
  • St-Hubert branded Chicken and Broccoli Gratin, sold in 715 gram packages with batch/lot product codes of 29618 100731 2021 OC 22 and a UPC of 66701 00732 8

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Maître Saladier has recalled certain batch/lots of St-Hubert branded Tourtière, Chicken Pot Pie & Chicken and Broccoli Gratin products due to suspected metal fragment contamination, specifically Aluminum.

In general, if glass or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled St-Hubert branded products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
