Smith Foods Ltd., a Winona, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Culinary Treasures brand Chipotle Aioli due to suspected spoilage and possible Escherichia coli (“E.coli”), Listeria monocytogenes and/or Salmonella contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection and/or Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Chipotle Aioli products are subject to this recall:

  • Culinary Treasures branded Chipotle Aioli, sold in 750 ml bottles with batch/lots of BB/MA AL 17 2019, BB/MA AL 18 2019, BB/MA AL 19 2019 or BB/MA AL 26 2019 with an inner package UPC of 0 66019 20023 7 and am outer package UPC of 0 66019 20018 3
  • Culinary Treasures branded Chipotle Aioli, sold in 750 ml bottles with batch/lots of BB/MA MA 08 2019, BB/MA MA 09 2019, BB/MA MA 10 2019, BB/MA MA 11 2019, BB/MA MA 14 2019, BB/MA MA 17 2019, BB/MA MA 18 2019, BB/MA MA 24 2019 or BB/MA MA 25 2019 with an inner package UPC of 0 66019 20023 7 and am outer package UPC of 0 66019 20018 3
  • Culinary Treasures branded Chipotle Aioli, sold in 750 ml bottles with batch/lots of BB/MA JN 04 2019 or BB/MA JN 05 2019 with an inner package UPC of 0 66019 20023 7 and am outer package UPC of 0 66019 20018 3

According to the CFIA, E.D. Smith Foods Ltd. has recalled certain batch/lots of Culinary Treasures brand Chipotle Aioli due to suspected spoilage. You should neither serve nor consume the Chipotle Aioli products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chipotle Aioli products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
