The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Beer Nut products are subject to this recall:

  • Modern Gourmet Spicy Beer Nuts, consisting of spicy seasoned nuts sold in 450 gram bottles with a best-before date code of 03 Jun 2019 and a keycode of 59394600

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Beer Nut products are pictured on the Web site above.

According to the ACCC, Target Australia Pty has recalled the above batch/lots of Modern Gourmet Spicy Beer Nuts due to suspected Glass Fragment contamination. You should nether serve nor consume these nut products.

In general, if glass fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Spicy Beer Nuts, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
