Additional information:

Among the 56 recalls the NHTSA has announced this December, comes news of the following:

Irvine Shade & Door, Inc. (“Irvine”) has recalled an estimated 5,000 model year Windshield Motor Shades. The motorized windshield roller shade at the driver’s seating position may unroll without warning while driving.

According to the NHTSA, if the windshield roller shade unrolls while driving, it could block the driver’s visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Irvine will notify the vehicle manufacturers that purchased the shades, and dealers for those manufacturers will install a fastener to ensure the motor will not allow the shade to roll down while driving, free of charge. Owners may contact Irvine customer service at 1-574-522-1446.
