Durex branded Lubricated Condom Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Reckitt Benckiser (“RB”) (Canada)) Inc. A Mississauga, Ontario Establishment, Recalls Certain Batch/Lots Of Durex branded Real Feel Extra Lubricated Condoms due to suspected failure to meet burst pressure specifications at end of the their shelf-life and consequential risk of birth control failure, unintended pregnancy, bacterial and/or viral transmission, all serious health and safety hazards

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Condom products are subject to this recall:

• Durex branded Real Feel Extra Lubricated Condoms, sold in 20-count boxes with a batch/lot designation of 1000356816 and a 97177 (20 count)

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to Health Canada, following observation of variable burst pressure performance of Polyisoprene Condoms manufactured during 2017, RB conducted an internal investigation and identified that batch/lot 1000356816 of Durex RealFeel 20 count Condoms distributed in Canada would not be expected to meet the burst pressure specification at end of shelf-life. Consequently, RB Health Canada Inc. has initiated this recall.
