Canada/Ottawa: Logo - Adams Brothers Family FarmsThe Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”), an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and food safety authority, recalls certain batch/lots of Cauliflower, Red Leaf Lettuce and Green Leaf Lettuce produced by Adam Bros. Farming Inc. of Santa Maria, California due to suspected risk of Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) E. coli O157:H7 contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Cauliflower and Lettuce products are subject to this recall:

  • Adam Brothers Family Farms branded Cauliflower, sold in variable sizes with tag numbers including 203-27263 331-18; 203-27263 332-18; 203-27263 333-18; 203-27263 334-18; 203-27268 334-18 and 204-27268 332-18. The recalled Cauliflower is plastic-wrapped and has the Adam Brothers Family Farms logo but no coding information. If you are unsure as to whether products are included in this recall, please contact the location where they were purchased.
  • Unbranded Green Leaf Lettuce, sold in bulk cases with tag numbers 204-27247 331-18; 253-27268 331-18; 204-27268 331-18 and 204-27268 332-18. These Lettuce products were sold in bulk without a brand name. If you are unsure as to whether products are included in this recall, contact the location where they were purchased.
  • Unbranded Red Leaf Lettuce, sold in variable sizes with tag numbers including 253-27267 331-18; 204-27267 331-18 and 203-27267 331-18. The recalled Cauliflower is plastic-wrapped and has the Adam Brothers Family Farms logo but no coding information. If you are unsure as to whether products are included in this recall, please contact the location where they were purchased.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, this recall was triggered by a recall in the United States that resulted from an investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 linked to the consumption of Romaine Lettuce. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is working with the United States Food and Drug Administration, and is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Cauliflower and Lettuce, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store or other outlet where you purchased it for a full refund.
