Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Apple Pie products are subject to this recall:

  • Nanna’s Family branded Apple Pie, sold in 600 gram packages with best-before dates of 21/10/2020 or 22/10/2020

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to the potential presence of Glass in an ingredient used in the recalled Nanna’s Family Apple Pie products. This is thought to be a result of an equipment failure with an ingredients supplier used by Patties Foods.

In general, if glass or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Nanna’s Family Apple Pies, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
