US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Del Monte Foods Canned CornDel Monte Foods Inc., a Contra Costa Centre, California establishment, recalls an estimated 64,242 cases of canned Fiesta Corn Seasoned with Red & Green Peppers due to suspected underprocessing and consequential risk of spoilage, Gram-positive and/or Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Canned Corn products are subject to this recall:

  • Fiesta Corn Seasoned with Red & Green Peppers, sold in 15.25-ounce (432 gram) cans with a UPC of 24000 02770 with the following best-if-used-by dates:
    • August 14, 2021
    • August 15, 2021
    • August 16, 2021
    • Sept 3, 2021
    • Sept 4, 2021
    • Sept 5, 2021
    • Sept 6, 2021
    • Sept 22, 2021
    • Sept 23, 2021

According to the FDA, Del Monte Foods has recalled an estimated 64,242 cases of canned Fiesta Corn Seasoned with Red & Green Peppers due to suspected underprocessing. These production deviations were part of the commercial sterilization process and could result in contamination by spoilage organisms and/or pathogens, any of which could lead to life-threatening illness if consumed.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Canned Corn products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Corn to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
