The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Mayonnaise products are subject to this recall:

  • Colway Real Mayonnaise, sold in 466 gram glass jars; affected batch/lots: all best-before dates with a barcode of 26212425 or 4088700023709

According to the ACCC, the recall is due to faulty packaging and potential for glass breakage. Faulty packaging could cause injury or result in glass contamination.

In general, if glass fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.
