Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Jxizhilang Green Tea Jelly Cup Recall [Australia]Crown Asian Supermarket Pty Ltd trading as Crown Asian Supermarket and KyotoMart, both Melbourne Victoria establishments recall certain batch/lots of Jxizhilang branded Green Tea Jelly Cup dessert products due to the presence of Konjac, an ingredient not permitted in Jelly Confectionery Products in Australia due to the risk of choking and/or airway obstruction, both serious health and safety hazards.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Green Tea Jelly Cup confectionery products are subject to this recall:

  • Jxizhilang branded Green Tea Jelly Cup dessert products, consisting of mini jelly cups with a green tea flavour

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Jelly Cup products can be found on the Web site listed above.

According to the ACCC, Jelly Cups and similar products containing Konjac are permanently banned in Australia due to choking risk.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Jxizhilang branded Mini Jelly Cups please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
