RedeCan BEC Dried Cannabis Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: RedeCan, a Ridgeville, Ontario establishment, recalls an estimated 13,344 units of BEC Dried Cannabis due to suspected mould (mold) contamination and consequential risk of respiratory irritation and/or infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Dried Cannabis products are subject to this recall:

  • RedeCan BEC Dried Cannabis, sold in 3.5 gram (approximately one ounce) packages with a batch/lot of 4B2L3 and UPCs of (01)00628242240925 and (17)500723(10)4B2L3

According to Health Canada, the recalled Dried Cannabis product may contain unidentified strains of Mould. In certain individuals, exposure to Mould can result in allergic symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, wheezing, runny nose or nasal congestion, and watery eyes or itchy eyes. The use of, or exposure to a mouldy product may cause temporary adverse health consequences, but the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.

To date, RedeCan has received five (5) complaints, and Health Canada has received one (1) complaint of Mould related to the recalled batch/lot. Neither Health Canada nor RedeCan has received any adverse reaction reports for the recalled Cannabis product.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Dried Cannabis products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
