The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Asparagus products are subject to this recall:

  • Pictsweet Farms 8-ounce Steam’ables Asparagus Spears, sold in 8-ounce packages with production codes starting with “2138XD”, a best-by date of AUG 1, 2020 and a UPC code of 0 70560 97799 9

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, the US states in which the product are known to have been distributed include Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin as well as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Asparagus products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Asparagus to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
