The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Cheese products are subject to this recall:

  • Sprout Creek Farm’s Margie Pasteurized Cow’s Milk Cheeses, sold with a batch/lot designation of 10-9-18 and a best-by date of 12-9-18

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, an earlier recall was initiated after it was suspected that the ambient air temperature at the start and end of the pasteurization process for a different batch/lot of Margie Pasteurized Cow’s Milk Cheeses failed exceed 150 degrees Fahrenheit as required by New York’s Grade “A” Pasteurized Milk Ordinance.

This recall was initiated after a subsequent US Food and Drug Administration inspection of Sprout Creek Farm’s cheese production facility. During the inspection samples were sent to a FDA Lab for testing and Listeria monocytogenes was found in the product.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Sprout Creek Farm’s Margie Pasteurized Cow’s Milk Cheese products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Cheese to the store or outlet where you purchased it for a full refund.
