Canada/Ottawa: Mountain Warehouse branded Water Bottle Recall [Canada]Mountain Warehouse Limited, a Toronto, Ontario establishment, recalls an estimated 3,801 BPA-Free Printed Kids’ Water Bottles due to suspected component detachment and consequential risk of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves certain 350 mL Mountain Warehouse BPA-free Printed Kids’ Water Bottles.

The recalled Water Bottles were sold with a model number of 023655 and were produced in six (6) different colour/pattern combinations, as follows:

  • Blue lid with Tractor print, sold with a model number of 023655 and a UPC of 5052776381048
  • Green lid with Shark print, sold with a model number of 023655 and a UPC of 5057634043524
  • Pink lid with Horse print, sold with a model number of 023655 and a UPC of 5052776381031
  • Blue lid With Lorry, Crane and Truck print, sold with a model number of 023655 and a UPC of 5057634124874
  • Turquoise lid with Fish print, sold with a model number of 023655 and a UPC of 5057634043533
  • Yellow lid with Hedgehog print, sold with a model number of 023655 and a UPC of 5052776412063

According to Health Canada, if the spout of the recalled Water Bottle becomes detached during use, a small ring can be exposed and both the spout and the ring may pose a choking hazard. As of October 19, 2018, the company has received one (1) report of breakage. No injuries have been reported.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Kids’ Water Bottles, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
