Canada/Ottawa: Original Foods MallowBats & M'allows Recall [Canada]Original Foods Ltd., a Dunnville, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Original Foods branded MallowBats and M’allows Baked Goods due to undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to this recall:

  • Original Foods branded MallowBats Baked Goods, sold in 200 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all codes where Milk is not declared on the product label with a UPC of 0 65571 63559 4
  • Original Foods branded MallowBats, sold in 250 gram packages; affected batch/lots: 8201 and 8220 with a UPC of 0 65571 63555 6
  • Original Foods branded M’allows, sold in 200 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all codes where Milk is not declared on the product label with a UPC of 0 65571 63332 3

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Original Foods Ltd. has recalled certain batch/lots of Original Foods branded MallowBats and M’allows Treats from the Canadian marketplace because they may contain Milk, an ingredient not declared on the label. People with an allergy or intolerance to Milk should neither serve nor consume the recalled Treats identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled MallowBats and M’allows Baked Goods and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
